Suppliers & purchasing
The selection of suppliers is an important issue for Lindab, and all suppliers are expected to comply with Lindab's Supplier Code and undergo an evaluation. Lindab's method for supplier evaluation follows the due diligence process and consists of three steps: 1. Signing Lindab's Supplier Code, 2. Self-assessment questionnaire, and 3. On-site audit if the supplier is located in a high-risk country. The evaluation is tailored depending on the risk classification of the supplier and the type of delivery intended. For suppliers in high-risk countries, all with a purchase amount of at least 25,000 EUR are reviewed. For low- and medium-risk countries, the minimum is 100,000 EUR. Additionally, strategic suppliers are also reviewed even if they have a lower purchase amount. To be classified as certified, the supplier must have passed all steps of the evaluation. Lindab uses The Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) and Human Freedom Index (HFI) to determine risk based on the supplier's geographical location.
Our long-term goal is to make purchases from democratic countries with low risk within Europe and only work with evaluated suppliers classified as low or medium-high risk.
